Shaking the Himalaya

There were 700 leaders who wanted to come to the conference. They came from Bhutan (where it is forbidden to speak about Jesus in public), Nepal, Sikkim, Darjheeling and West Bengal. Because we did not have enough finances for everybody and we couldn’t rent some bigger facilities, we had to turn down about 200 leaders and so finally there were about 500 people coming to the conference. The theme was  about „Fruitfulness in Ministry“.

It was awesome how God’s presence was so tangible from the first day of the conference on and these Pastors showed an openness, that is unusual for leaders there. There were many from Baptist churches or Pentecostal churches or others. Tom’s ministry could send out 96 own Church Planters into the Himalaya, that he also supports! We are also helping financially and want to see that we can send out many more. We are thrilled to see how through their life many nations in the Himalaya will be shaken and turned around for Jesus!

Demons manifest; Jesus will be glorified!

We did not only preach a lot (like three times a day) but we also had a group workshop and a time where they could ask us questions. But whatever we taught on, the Holy Spirit confirmed the messages sometimes so strongly that everybody was on their knees and cried because the Spirit of God was at work. Or it also happened that demons manifested and some of these leaders needed deliverance. Often I got reminded on the times when Jesus preached in the Synagogue and exactly these things happened. When people needed more prayer for deliverance as only a little „Be free in Jesus name!“... David Taylor was always ready to jump in there and help. He prayed for those leaders until they were really set free and had a breakthrough.

That was also the case on the last day when a young man who gave his life to the Lord on the conference needed some deliverance since his parents were involved in witchcraft. They brought him to the conference and David started to pray for him with a group of people in a room next to the conference hall. It wasn’t that easy. Often he fell asleep and was knocked out because the demons were so strong or he had some manifestations and could barely walk because the demons tried to attack him. But Jesus has the victory and this young boy experienced more and more deliverance until he finally was set free and had an open look in his eyes. That evening he could even help us to minister to the leaders!

Healings as in the time of Jesus

I was already tired this afternoon and just wanted to help David a bit with his deliverance ministry and take some photos since I was preaching every day several times and prayed for and ministered to many people. Added to this we only found about 5-6 hours sleep every night because there was always something up! So I just popped into the deliverance session, gave some comments and wanted to leave again to take some more pictures. But the stairway outside the room was full with people, it looked like a „Healing Line“! All the sick people waited there until somebody would come and pray for them.

Since nobody else had time to pray for these people although I was very tired and exhausted I felt compelled to go and pray for their healing. Maybe my weak state was even good, you know how it goes… so I was sure that only God could do a miracle here... He IS strong in the weak! The first woman had a completely broken back. Everything was deformed and if I wouldn’t have put my hand on her back I wouldn’t have believed that something like this could be possible.

As I prayed for the woman I felt how my hands got warm and power started to flow. But unfortunately we didn’t experience a sudden restoration. Then came a boy who couldn’t hear anything with his one ear. I prayed and said, „Can you hear something now?”

„No, I don’t hear anything.“
I prayed again and asked him,
„And now? Do you hear something now?“ I sniped with my finger and made some noise.
„Yes, I can hear a little bit, like from a distance.“
I continued to pray.  
„And now?“ I sniped again in front of his ear.
„I can hear again!“ he said!
„Can you hear as good as you can with your other ear?“ I tested both ears.
„Yes, I hear the same with both ears!“
„Halleluja, you are healed. Go and praise the Lord.“

We stood in this stairway and God started to do mighty things. Some people fell under the power and I didn’t know what was happening. Sometimes I didn’t even have somebody to translate for me and so at times I didn’t even know what was really going on. With another boy something very encouraging happened too. He was almost blind on both eyes, he could only see a little bit, like seeing the light but he couldn’t recognize people. So I also prayed for him and after some minutes he said, „I can see everything clearly now!“ His eyesight was completely restored! Halleluja!

God moved in the middle of this stairway and we were just astounded about his grace and his goodness! I felt this mercy rising up inside of me and experienced a new thing that I didn’t wanted to necessarily see the miracles happen but more I wanted to see that God would touch these people and heal them for the sake of the people so they would be healed! You know most of them do not have any money for a doctor or any other possibilities. They only have JESUS as their redeemer and healer. And as I was praying for them I just felt so strongly that HE himself wants to meet their needs. JESUS is alive and truly arisen!

Emission and Ordination

On the last evening we had the honor to ordain the 30 bible school students into ministry, that I and Manuel ministered to two months ago. It was an awesome evening and God poured out again his apostolic anointing. As Tom and I started to pray the Holy Spirit came again in power and no eye stayed dry. The whole room looked as if a bomb would have exploded! It was a very touching ending of the conference and the leaders returned encouraged and strengthened to their missionfields, where they daily talk with people who accept the Lord Jesus Christ (sometimes under persecution) and the churches grow and the Kingdom of God is extended!

Indeed we did not have one quiet minute and on our way back we had a stop over in Delhi where we were invited to stay for the night. A group of people awaited us there also bible school students, that also were to be ordained, also some orphans and many others! David and I preached there and could attain the ordination and pray for the sick. And again God confirmed his word and people got healed! Halleluja!

The work in India, Nepal, Bhuthan and Tibeth continues and an expansion is taking place to other nations. Because the Himalaya people are missionary people and also go to other nations now! Halleluja, that’s the apostolic anointing. It is not enough to reach the people of your own country it also needs to go out to other nations!
