Claude Widmer and Manuel Bestler just returned back from Kenya, where they visited their former students from the Live Discipleship Training School that was held in February of this year and also their churches. They were able to experience God in an amazing way and will share here a little bit about it!

Here comes the travel report:

Cults as many as sand on the beach!

Our first stop where we ministered was a small village in the neighborhood of the town Kisii! You could immediately sense the demonic presence and the air in the region is so thick you could have cut it with a knife. It is no wonder, since the majority of the people are part of obscure cults that keep them bound.
So far there was only a very small fellowship of born again believers at hand that invited us to help them. At our visit of last December we had previously ministered to them through the word and prayers. Back then Erich Pfister received a word of knowledge of someone with a deaf ear. And in fact it was so and this woman was touched my Jesus and healed! Hallelujah!

This time we were able to minister to the leaders and afterwards we preached at the service and prayed also for some people. The Holy Spirit began to move mightily and people cried because Jesus met them and gave inner healing. Others fell to the ground and demons manifested! At this meeting God brought a lot of healing and deliverance to this place of darkness. 7 people received salvation, at a place in the middle of nowhere!

Through John Shiundu, our local contact we are still connected with them and try and help as much as we can.

On the same day we continued our journey westwards to Migori.

First white people to ever preach

It was a special joy for us to see Godfrey and Alice again. They attended this spring our Disipleship Training School. The schedule was also very intense and we preached several times daily and were able to proclaim the Word of  God. But not only that, there was also a strong spiritual battle going on and God began to reveal the prophetic word for this region. At the last meeting somewhere out in the jungle all leaders repented for their own sins and also for the ones of their forefathers and God began to move mightily!

A woman by the way said: „You are the first white people to preach out here“. In this area there was also a false prophet that brought people under his clutches. It went so far that the people believed that Aids was just a curse and they could do nothing about it. Only just recently had they been educated about it. But because of this erroneous belief many people died and only just 15 – 20 percent of adults survived.

This of course lead to an exceeding amount of orphans  and a considerable part are already HIV positive. This is why we appreciate the work of our bretheren all the more because they give many children a home and have opened up an orphanage that we support. The hardship is tremendous but in the midst of all the suffering God is doing a work and we are thankful that we may share in it through Godfrey and Alice.

Since our visit in December and the attendance at our school the churches seem to be growing and they have started with discipleship and equipping the Body of Christ. Godfrey and his two elders commented: „We were always reserved towards the people that came from the Western countries and wanted to start to support a project in our region. We did not only want projects, but to build the Kingdom of God. You are the first we are working with. As we started out we had no accommodation for the church, but met underneath the trees!“

Today they have a church in Migori and an additional four branches, that enables them to reach people for the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

At the house of the prophet...

After this we continued our journey to Eldoret. Upon our arrival we already had a meeting at a friend of John’s, which Church meets over lunch. We were quite amazed to meet with over hundred people that went without their lunch only to have fellowship and be before God!

Something unexected happened in Eldoret. Wherenever we went we received prophetic words, that were so clear and spoke very precisely into the lives of these people so that God’s impact was revealed to all. It was very impressive to experience that often there was not a dry eye and we heard over and over the same thing: „God spoke directly into my situation! Thank you, that you make yourselves available to be used by Him“. It was as if God himself wanted to reconfirm this mandate, after in exactly this area we had been accused in a wordly newspaper.

Hallelujah! It was like everywhere we went God poured out His revelation and wanted to minister to His people! Even at leadership meetings, where Bishops and other influential leaders were present, the prophetic word flowed so strongly, that even conservative leaders had to admit, that God spoke to them and the doors therefore opened! We give God all the honor, because it was clear to all of us that Jesus himself had spoken to these people!

Live Bible School at the end of the year

One of the reasons for this trip was the preparation for the Live Bible School that will take place at the end of this year. God now has opened the doors and given us favor with many leaders in this region of Eldoret in Kenya. We have also found a suitable location and negotiations are in process.

Now we pray and believe that all doors will open so that the right people will sign up and we will have enough finances to accomplish it.

We are tremendously encouraged that God has given us in John and Juster Shiundu a trustworthy couple with whom we continue to further build the Kingdom and will lay foundations together!
