Dear friends

We are in the midst of the first week of our four weeks bible school in Thailand and we would like to thank you from all our heart for all the given support through prayer and finances! The Lord gave tremendous breakthroughs, already after the first two days. He has brought forth breakthroughs and change!

Many of the students could fill whole books with their stories. In South East Asia there are only very few Christians. One example is Thailand with only 0.6% born-again Christians. Furthermore, in several countries is still strong persecution. But the people are even more on fire for the Lord.

Church planting by raising the dead

Tonight a homely women from Laos told me, she saw my picture in a Christian magazine from Thailand.She layed hands on the magazine and prayed that she will be able to come to our school. There were more than 20 preferential pastors to be sent, but they all declined to go. So her leader sent this women to study at our school in Thailand...

This short and homely women is not just "somebody". She is the founder and leader of 23 churches. Many of these she planted because she was on the run. In some districts she was a fugitive because she confessed Jesus. Let me tell you just one short story about the planting of one of these 23 churches:

God showed her a vision about a certain house in a village. She searched for this house and found it, there was also a cemetery with a coffin, standing there for several days. Some parts of the corps were already rotten and one could see the bones. She asked the person in charge of the cemetry, if she would be allowed to pray. He gave her permission and she started to sing a song to praise the Lord. Suddenly the man in the coffin arose from the dead and joined her in dancing and singing praise to God! Everyone present couldn't believe what they saw and about 300 people came to Jesus that day. By now there is already a second church in the same village. Isn't this great?

It is a priviledge for us to be able to minister to people like this women and many point out how much of a blessing it is for them to be here, already in these first days. Obviously they learn a lot of things and experience the Holy Spirit in a way and power they haven't before. Sometimes, when we hear their stories and see their devotion to the Lord, I think, God, why do you send us to these people? It is humbling to see how the Lord is using us to minister to these mighty men and women of God and to teach them. But this is how the body of Christ functions. We can all learn from each other. On the one hand they learn from us and on the other hand we are inspired by them!

Acquaintance with the Holy Spirit

Tonight the Holy Spirit's presence was so strong that most of the students only could cry. While I was preaching, I suddenly had to cry and invited the Holy Spirit to move! Some just fell down on their face and a wave of the love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit flooded our small hall.

It is hard to describe how God moves in our midst. Already this morning, after the actual teaching as we talked about the different ways of how God can speak to you and we started to interpret dreams, the Holy Spirit came in power and showed so many thing in christal clear light that callings were rectified, healings happened, God showed His plans and revealed His love afresh to many. Uncounted tears were shed and God gave new joy!

This is just a short interim report, or quick peek into the beginnings of our first bible school in South East Asia!
